Its 5 rings Time!!!!

Hi Everyone,

Biggest sporting event in the world is around the corner. Yes! its Olympics, after a year of postponement, its gonna happen this month, from 23 July to 8 August 2021.

Japanese citizens are worried about the further spread of Covid during the Tokyo Olympics. Concerns are valid, but the desicions are made. Olympics are set to roll!

Tokyo

The Tokyo 2020 schedule will not kick off with the Opening Ceremony as usual. The first 2 days will include the preliminary matches of football as well as softball, one of the new sports to be introduced to the Olympics. The opening ceremony will take place on July 23. The closing ceremony will be on the final day of the Olympics (August 8).

There is an incredible amount of sporting competitions to look forward to at various Olympic venues. The athletics events start on July 30 at the new Tokyo Stadium and every single session will feature finals and medal ceremonies.

Olympics Mascot

MIRAITOWA is cheerful and remarkably athletic, with a very strong sense of integrity. It has a special power to instantly teleport anywhere it wants.

Medal Concept:

The design of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic medals reflects the concept that, to achieve glory, athletes have to strive for victory on a daily basis.

The medals resemble rough stones that have been polished and now shine, with “light” and “brilliance” their overall themes.

The medals collect and reflect myriad patterns of light, symbolising the energy of the athletes and those who support them.

Their design is intended to symbolise diversity and represent a world where people who compete in sports and work hard are honoured.

The brilliance of the medals signifies the warm glow of friendship symbolising people all over the world holding hands.

Tokyo 2020 Medal Project:

100 percent of the metals required to manufacture the approximately 5,000 gold, silver and bronze medals were extracted from small electronic devices contributed by people from all over Japan.

Every single medal to be awarded to athletes during the Tokyo 2020 Games is made from recycled metals.

We hope that our project of recycling small consumer electronics and our efforts to contribute to an environmentally-friendly and sustainable society will form part of the legacy of the Tokyo 2020 Games.
