Indian Shooting @ Tokyo2020

Hello,

Shooting! Indian shooting team has been always expected win medal at olympics. But we had only won 4 medals till now. Only gold other than hockey in India's overall medals tally is from shooting. Abhinav bhindra, won in Men's 10 m Air Rifle in Beijing2008.

Other Olympic medalists are Rajyavardhan Rathore - Silver,Athens2004, Vijay kumar - Silver,London2012, Gagan Narag- Bronze,London2012

We had sent a team of 11 to Rio2016, now to Tokyo 15 are shooting for India.

There are 15 Gold medals to shoot in Tokyo. But we are aiming only 10. 

This is the largest Indian shooting contingent at the Olympic Games, and probably the most prolific too with multiple current and former world No 1 and World Cup gold medallists. They are a largely young side, with all but four on their first Olympics campaign.

India has 4 athletes participating in 3 events.

Sharath competing his 3rd olympics,Manika into her 2nd olympic, Sathiyan is the first ever Indian Paddler to broke into top 25 in rankings and Sutirtha are into their first olympics.

Indian Wrestling @ Tokyo2020

Hello,

Wrestling! Has been a India's Saviour in last 3 Olympics! Till now we have won 5 medals in olympics. Second highest number of medals in India's Olympics Tally after our dominace in Hockey.

Shushil Kumar, Silver and Bronze medalist in Olympics London and Beijing respectively, made wresling popular in India. Yogeshwar Dutt, London2012, Bronze Medalist carried the legacy in Mens category. Now there is a huge hope on Bajrang Punia

In Women's category we have notable names like Geeta PhogatBabita Kumari in Commonwealth and Asian Games. But Sakshi Malik becomes the first indian women wrestler to win bronze in olympics. She did it in Rio2016. In Tokyo we have huge hopes on Vinesh Phogat as she is in prime form. She finished 10th in Rio2016. She is the top seed in her category.

We have 18 events in Tokyo. But we have qualified only for 7 events.

Indian Weightlifting @ Tokyo2020

Hello,

Lets see about Weightlifting! There are 14 events in Tokyo2020. India had qualified in only one event.

Saikhom Mirabai Chanu, Commentwealth Gold medalist, World Championship Gold medalist is the only contigent for India in weightlifting. She competes in 48Kg category. She had finished 6th in Rio2016 snatch!

We had won a bronze in SydneyOlympics in 2000 by Karnam Malleshwari, First Indian Women Olympic Medalist.

Saikhom will try to finish in podium this time!

Indian Tennis @ Tokyo2020

Hello,

Tennis is one of the most happening and followed sport all over the world.Thanks to likes of Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Djokovic! Rafa and Federer are not participating in Tokyo!

In olympics 5 events are conducted. Men's Singles, Doubles ,Women's Singles, Doubles and Mixed doubles.

Leander paes won a Bronze in Atlanta 1996 olympics. After that he and Mahesh Bhupathy came close on double in Athens2004 finished 4th. 

India had qualified for 2 events in Tokyo. Team below,

Sumit Nagal - Men's Singles

Sania Mirza and Ankita Raina - Women's Doubles



Sania Mirza, former Indian women's no1 pairs up with current Indian women's no1. Sania trying her luck in her 4th olympics and Ankita entering into her maiden olympics.

Sumit, currently highest ranked Indian entering his maiden olympics. He came into limelight when he faced Roger federer in 2019 US Open 1st round. He won a first set against Federer. He got a chance since many withdrawn due to pandemic and injuries.

Rohan Boppana, well know in Indian tennis, failed to make a cut. He had accused Indian Tennis body on this. Whatever, but we missed a sure medal shot.

Indian Rowing @ Tokyo2020

Hello,

Lets see about Rowing. It is a racing sport using boats and ores. In Tokyo there are 14 medal events.

From India we have qualified only for Men's Lightweight Doubles sculls. We have a experienced rowers Arjun Lal and Arvind Singh competing for India at international levels. 

Both of are serving Indian Army!

Repechage: 25th July 2021 (Repechage is best placed losers in heats will compete)

Hello,

How many of you know what is JUDO? It is Japanese Maritial art. Have a look at this link - Click here, explains in a minute.

Number of events conducted in Tokyo is 15. But India is up on only one.

We have a another lone warrior comepeting in Judo. Sushila Devi Likmabam. She is a Silver medalist in Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2014.


She is competing in Women's Extra-Light Weight (48KG) category. A podium in Judo will change the face on Judo in India.

Indian Hockey @ Tokyo2020

Hello,

Let see about a sport in which India won more Gold in Olympics. Field Hockey, National game of India!

Indian Mens hockey team won 11 medal including 8 golds. India had won more medals in hockey than any other team in olympics. But the sad part is last medal won in 1980 😔

In Tokyo both Mens and Womens team are competing!

Indian team currently ranks 4th in the world. Manpreet Singh, leading Indians hope.

Indian Gymnastics @ Tokyo2020

Hello,

Indian Gymnastics has a new name Pranati Nayak. She is a lone warrior for India in gymnastics.

In Tokyo2020 gymnastics are conducted in three categories, Artistic, Rhythmic and Trampolining,

Pranati is competing in Artistic category.





There is a another name in gymnastic but he in Tokyo2020 as a judge. So no medal hope😉. His name is Deepak kabra, he is the first Indian Gymnastic judge.

Huge miss for Tokyo is Dipa Karmakar was a lone warrior in Rio2016. She finished 4th in valut in Rio2016. She missed this olympics due to 2 major factors, constant injury and covid. latter is most common.

Indian Fencing @ Tokyo2020

Hello! 

Fencing! Yes, it is a combat sport, had it origin from traditional swordmanship. It is one of the 5 activities features in every mordern olympics!

Tokyo2020 will feature 12 events, across 3 discipline (Foil, Eppe, Sabre) for both Men and Women. Involes Individual and Team event!

CA Bhavani Devi, the First Indian to qualify for the olympics!

Bhavani will compete in individual sabre event.


Overall Italy had won more medals at olympics at fencing. But in Rio2016 Russia had won more!

Lets, hope Bhavani to bring a medal, to make the sport popular across India!

Indian Equestrian @ Tokyo2020

 Hello,

Many of us may not know this sport by name Equestrian😅, it is the only sport in olympics involves animals. Now you might have guessed it (horse riding) not exactly.

50 nations are competing in this in Tokyo2020. It contains both individual and team events.

Unfortunatley India competing on individual event, that too in only on Eventing( total 3 disciplines Dressage,Eventing,Juming)

Fouaad Mirza, representing India for the 1st time 2 decades and 3rd time overall.


Dajraa 4, Name of the horse Fouaad picked as his partner for his maiden olympics! let hope for a good show and increase the popularity of the sport in India!

Indian Badminton @ Tokyo2020

Hello!

Today let see a sport which won us 2 medal in till now! Its Badmiton! Saina Nehwal, won us a Bronze in Beijing2008, eight years later P.V Sindhu, betters the color to Silver!

This time Saina had missed-out due to ranking and qualfiying events are conducted less than normal. Another important players who missed out are Kidambi Srikanth, Sikki ReddyAshwini Ponnappa

As Carolina Marin defending champion is out of Tokyo2020 due to injury, as our hope raises on Sindhu to better her medal.

Sindhu lost Gold to Marin in Rio2016.

Indian Athletics @ Tokyo2020

 Hello,

Athletics has never been India's cup of tea. Its more than 121 years to be exact since we won medal in athletics in Olympics.

Norman Pritchard won Silver in both Men's 200 Metres and Men's 200 Metres Hurdles in Paris 1900. Those are the only medals which is on India's name in Athletics.

We had many legends Milkha Singh, PT Usha, Anju Bobby George who tried to make us proud in Asian Games and Commentwealth games. Hima Das is a promising sprinter coundn't qualify as she struggled through injuries.

This time Indian athletics have given us hope with the raise of Neeraj Chopra, Shivpal Singh.

Total of 26 member competing from India, hopefully we will open our medal account this time.

Indian Archery @ Tokyo2020

Hello,

Archery is an interesting sport for India, because it always does well world cup, tops the recent world cup (2021_Archery_World_Cup) but fails in Olympics. This time 4 contigents will aim for India @ Tokyo

Till now India had never won a medal in Olympics, hopefully luck shines for Deepika Kumari, current world number 1 and Triple gold medalist in recent Archery World Cup and her husband Atanu Das.

Hopefull the young couple will aim for BullEye @ Tokyo2020

Also a veteren Tarundeep Rai competing his last olympics, will look to give his best shot.

We are competing in Men's Individual, Women's Individual,Mixed Team, Men's Team. Unfortunately, Women's Team dint qualify😔
