Indian Gymnastics @ Tokyo2020

Hello,

Indian Gymnastics has a new name Pranati Nayak. She is a lone warrior for India in gymnastics.

In Tokyo2020 gymnastics are conducted in three categories, Artistic, Rhythmic and Trampolining,

Pranati is competing in Artistic category.





There is a another name in gymnastic but he in Tokyo2020 as a judge. So no medal hope😉. His name is Deepak kabra, he is the first Indian Gymnastic judge.

Huge miss for Tokyo is Dipa Karmakar was a lone warrior in Rio2016. She finished 4th in valut in Rio2016. She missed this olympics due to 2 major factors, constant injury and covid. latter is most common.

Indian Golf @ Tokyo2020

Hello,

For our generation Golf is nothing but Tiger woods! But he doesnt have a Olympic medal to his name.

Since it was included in Rio2016, after 1904. He was suffered from injury in 2016. Even this time in Tokyo he is unfortunate to miss! But USA leading in medals tally and sending a big team!

From India, 3 are contesting in Tokyo2020,



Aditi and Anirban, competing their second olympics. Udayan in his first olympics. Looking to make India Proud.

Indian Fencing @ Tokyo2020

Hello! 

Fencing! Yes, it is a combat sport, had it origin from traditional swordmanship. It is one of the 5 activities features in every mordern olympics!

Tokyo2020 will feature 12 events, across 3 discipline (Foil, Eppe, Sabre) for both Men and Women. Involes Individual and Team event!

CA Bhavani Devi, the First Indian to qualify for the olympics!

Bhavani will compete in individual sabre event.


Overall Italy had won more medals at olympics at fencing. But in Rio2016 Russia had won more!

Lets, hope Bhavani to bring a medal, to make the sport popular across India!

Indian Equestrian @ Tokyo2020

 Hello,

Many of us may not know this sport by name Equestrian😅, it is the only sport in olympics involves animals. Now you might have guessed it (horse riding) not exactly.

50 nations are competing in this in Tokyo2020. It contains both individual and team events.

Unfortunatley India competing on individual event, that too in only on Eventing( total 3 disciplines Dressage,Eventing,Juming)

Fouaad Mirza, representing India for the 1st time 2 decades and 3rd time overall.


Dajraa 4, Name of the horse Fouaad picked as his partner for his maiden olympics! let hope for a good show and increase the popularity of the sport in India!

Indian Boxing @ Tokyo2020

Hello,

Lets see about Boxing! India had won 2 medals in boxing in past. But boxing foundations are getting stronger every year. Vijiender was seen as a nation hero when he won Bronze in Beijing2008! Many kids lookedup to him.

One in Beijing2008 by Vijender Singh and another by Mary Kom in London2012!


Mary Kom is an inspiration! She is a mother of 3 sons and adopted a girl, but she never givenup, competing for a nation again. She is a champion lady competing in International level from 2001.Won 19 medals including 13 Gold!

We have strong team this time! 13 gold medals to hunt, but India will contest in 5 men's and 4 women's so, total 9 categories.

Indian Men will contest in below weight categories: 

Flyweight (52kg) - Amit Panghal

Lightweight (63kg) - Manish Kaushik

Welterweight (69kg) - Vikas Krishan Yadav

Middleweight (75kg) - Ashish Kumar

Super heavyweight (+91kg) - Satish Kumar

Women will contest in below weight categories:

Flyweight (51kg) - Mary Kom

Lightweight (60kg) - Simranjith Kaur

Welterweight (69kg) - Lovlina Borgohain

Middleweight (75kg) - Pooja Rani

All eyes on Mary Kom to repeat the heroics London and better her medal. Vikas krishan the experienced campainer missed out a bronze in Rio2016

Indian Badminton @ Tokyo2020

Hello!

Today let see a sport which won us 2 medal in till now! Its Badmiton! Saina Nehwal, won us a Bronze in Beijing2008, eight years later P.V Sindhu, betters the color to Silver!

This time Saina had missed-out due to ranking and qualfiying events are conducted less than normal. Another important players who missed out are Kidambi Srikanth, Sikki ReddyAshwini Ponnappa

As Carolina Marin defending champion is out of Tokyo2020 due to injury, as our hope raises on Sindhu to better her medal.

Sindhu lost Gold to Marin in Rio2016.

Indian Athletics @ Tokyo2020

 Hello,

Athletics has never been India's cup of tea. Its more than 121 years to be exact since we won medal in athletics in Olympics.

Norman Pritchard won Silver in both Men's 200 Metres and Men's 200 Metres Hurdles in Paris 1900. Those are the only medals which is on India's name in Athletics.

We had many legends Milkha Singh, PT Usha, Anju Bobby George who tried to make us proud in Asian Games and Commentwealth games. Hima Das is a promising sprinter coundn't qualify as she struggled through injuries.

This time Indian athletics have given us hope with the raise of Neeraj Chopra, Shivpal Singh.

Total of 26 member competing from India, hopefully we will open our medal account this time.

Indian Archery @ Tokyo2020

Hello,

Archery is an interesting sport for India, because it always does well world cup, tops the recent world cup (2021_Archery_World_Cup) but fails in Olympics. This time 4 contigents will aim for India @ Tokyo

Till now India had never won a medal in Olympics, hopefully luck shines for Deepika Kumari, current world number 1 and Triple gold medalist in recent Archery World Cup and her husband Atanu Das.

Hopefull the young couple will aim for BullEye @ Tokyo2020

Also a veteren Tarundeep Rai competing his last olympics, will look to give his best shot.

New Sports @ Tokyo2020 and Medal Tally till now !!

Hello!

In the previous post we saw number of countries up for this Tokyo Olympics! Now its time to know about how many events are going to be conducted in Tokyo!

Events were approved by IOC on June 2017.

With lot of speculations of droping Wrestling from Tokyo Olympics 2020, finally it has been included after rules change and with addtion of womens competition in 2016 olympics.
